Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Li Zebin (李泽斌), operating Tolvo as an individual proprietor ("Tolvo", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Tolvo you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What Tolvo is

Tolvo places real phone calls in which an AI translates between you and the other party in real time. It also provides live listening translation (Listen), call transcripts, AI-generated call summaries, an automatic address book, and optional voice cloning.

Translations are produced by AI and can be wrong. Names, numbers, and technical terms may be misheard or mistranslated. Do not rely on Tolvo as your sole channel for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical communication; for high-stakes matters use a qualified human interpreter or a shared language.

2. No emergency calls

Tolvo cannot be used to call emergency services (such as 911, 112, or 999), and emergency numbers are refused by the system. Always keep an ordinary phone line or mobile service available for emergencies.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. Keep your sign-in credentials secure: you are responsible for activity on your account. One account is for one person.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use Tolvo only for lawful communication. You must not:

• harass, threaten, or defraud anyone, or impersonate any person or organization;
• place robocalls, telemarketing, or bulk automated calls, or send spam;
• call numbers you have no lawful basis to call, or violate telemarketing and do-not-call rules that apply to you;
• use the service where its use would be unlawful, or to intercept communications you are not a party to;
• resell the service, probe or disrupt our systems, or circumvent usage limits and billing.

5. Consent and recording laws are your responsibility

Tolvo plays an automated announcement to the other party on every call stating that an AI translation service is in use, and it stores text transcripts of your calls. Laws about call monitoring, transcription, and consent differ by country and state, and some require the other party's consent. You are responsible for ensuring your use of Tolvo is lawful in the places you and the people you call are located. The built-in announcement does not replace obligations that apply to you.

6. Voice cloning

You may clone only your own voice, or a voice whose owner has given you documented consent. Using a cloned voice to deceive, impersonate, or defraud is prohibited and leads to immediate suspension.

7. Plans, payment, and usage

Usage is measured in call minutes. Free and paid plans, their allowances, and current prices are shown in the product at the point of purchase; payments are processed by Stripe. Plan allowances and pricing may change with reasonable advance notice — changes never apply retroactively to time you have already paid for. Refunds are handled as described at the point of purchase and as required by applicable law. Taxes may apply based on your billing country.

8. Your content

Your calls, transcripts, summaries, and contacts are yours. You grant us the limited license needed to process and store them in order to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may remove content or restrict features when necessary to enforce these terms or comply with law.

9. Third-party services

Tolvo relies on telephone carriers, speech and AI providers, and payment processors. Telephone networks and third-party services are outside our control, and call quality or availability may vary by destination, carrier, and network conditions.

10. Suspension and termination

You can stop using Tolvo at any time and request account deletion under the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create legal risk, or abuse the service; where reasonable, we will warn you first. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 8 and 11–14) survive.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy of translations and transcripts, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of USD 100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, or data. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; where mandatory consumer protections apply, nothing in these terms limits rights you cannot waive.

13. Indemnification

You will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the service, including calls placed without a lawful basis or in violation of consent, recording, or telemarketing laws.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of Singapore, except where the law of your country of residence grants you mandatory consumer rights and venue that cannot be waived.

15. Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email or inside the product. Continuing to use Tolvo after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

16. General

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor operator of the service. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver.
